ABOUT CALVIN

Calvin Christian School has successfully provided Christian education in South Holland, Illinois, since 1912. What started as a two-room schoolhouse with twenty students in a rural community, has blossomed into a rich expression of God's faithfulness. Calvin Christian School now serves 245 students from diverse backgrounds in a modern two-story facility. Students come from the following communities: South Holland, Dolton, Riverdale, Hazel Crest, Calumet City, Lansing, Lynwood, Homewood, Glenwood, Olympia Fields, Country Club Hills, Flossmoor, Chicago Heights, and Crete in Illinois AND Dyer and St. John in Indiana.

The Board, administration and faculty believe that God and His Word impact all of life, including, not only Bible class and chapel, but every subject area and extra-curricular activities. Teachers encourage students to explore, create, and see all things in relationship to God the Creator, Redeemer and Lord. We believe in the importance of providing a solid, Christian education based on the truth and authority of God's Word.

Academically, we will challenge and support your child. We will look for and pay special attention to areas in which your child shows a natural passion or aptitude. And we'll sit beside him in areas where he struggles. It is our goal that every graduate of CCS will have reached her highest potential and have a solid foundation on which to succeed in continued education.

Over 80 different churches and a diversity of ethnic backgrounds are represented at Calvin. We believe this diversity enriches students' experiences. Students learn to value each other as unique individuals created in God's image.

Our goal is to raise up the next generation of Christian women and men by providing the means for each student, as an image-bearer of God, to use his or her abilities for God's glory, the benefit of society, and personal fulfillment. If you are seeking an education for your child based on God's Word and rooted in these values of Christian love and service, then we at CCS invite you to explore our website further andcontact us.

Our school is a member of Christian Schools International. CSI is a nonprofit organization that has been serving schools in the U.S. and Canada since 1920. CSI is committed to advancing Christian education and supports schools in their task of teaching students to know God and his world and to glorify him through obedient service.
