Communities We Serve

Calvin Christian School is a private, Christian PK-8 school located in South Holland, Illinois. For 100 years, it has provided a rigorous education for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 8, aimed at integrating spiritual formation (heart), academic development (head) and cultural engagement (hand). We are about faith and learning, for life.

By bus, car, bike or on foot, our students hail from South Holland and the many communities: Blue Island, Burnham, Calumet City, Calumet Park, Crete, Dolton, Glenwood, Harvey, Homewood, Lansing, Lynwood, Posen, Peotone, Riverdale, Robbins, several neighborhoods of the city of Chicago and the towns of Dyer, Hammond, Highland and Munster in Indiana.

Attending Calvin from Kindergarden through 8th grade gave me the biblical foundation I needed for all of my life that followed graduation. Even today, experiences at Calvin fuel my love for Jesus and the way I go about life and ministry.

I love the absolute visibility of Christ in the lives of the staff, and their ability to share that with the students.

This is our first year at Calvin Christian and my 5 year old is really enjoying the school, his class and extended day care. I feel very comfortable in leaving my son in the care of Calvin Christian faculty and staff. I like how the school engages not only the parents but the entire family (via various activities). The integration of Christian values and teachings are very apparent in the discussion me and my son have.

I like that my child attends a school where Christ is the center of focus. I also appreciate the small classroom size. I love the way the teachers creatively think outside the box, allowing them to relate to the different learning styles of all students. Finally, my child is happy with the school, including the teachers and classmates, which makes me extremely comfortable sending her to school daily.

God is at work clearly overtime in this place and what a blessing it is to be apart of. We are excited to see how God continues to show himself here. We pray for you all and are overwhelmed with gratitude for what you all do. God is using you all to bless our family and many other families.
